ROAD / GRAVEL / MTB

Find your
starting pressure.

Balance grip, comfort and rolling support with a transparent estimate you can tune on the road or trail.

Check the pressure range printed on your tire and rim. Never exceed either component’s limit.

THE METHOD

A baseline—not a commandment.

The estimate scales wheel load against measured tire width, then adjusts for surface and tube setup. Front and rear pressures differ because bicycle load is rarely distributed evenly.

Tire casing, rim width, riding style, temperature and gauge accuracy all matter. Start here, stay within manufacturer limits, and tune in small steps. Stop lowering pressure if you feel rim strikes, tire squirm or instability.

QUICK ANSWERS

Pressure is personal.

Should tubeless pressure be lower?

Usually slightly. Without an inner tube, pinch-flat risk is reduced, but rim strikes and tire instability remain real limits.

Why is rear pressure higher?

The rear wheel commonly carries more of the combined rider and bike load. A different riding position can change that split.

Is the number safe for every tire?

No. Your tire and rim markings are the controlling limits. This calculator cannot inspect component condition or compatibility.
